Can CCTV really see in colour at night?
Yes. Modern low-light cameras — Hikvision’s ColorVu range is the best known — capture full-colour footage in near darkness. Clothing, vehicles and plates become identifiable instead of grey shapes. We fit them as standard where night detail matters.
Will I get alerts on my phone?
Yes — and useful ones. AcuSense detection tells people and vehicles apart from branches, headlights and animals, so you hear about someone on the drive, not every cat that crosses it. Live view and playback work from anywhere.
Is home CCTV legal? What about the street?
Home CCTV is legal. Where cameras see beyond your boundary, data-protection rules apply — signage and sensible aiming solve most of it. We position cameras at the survey so coverage is effective and considerate, and set privacy masks where needed.
Can I answer the gate when I'm not home?
Yes. A video intercom rings your phone wherever you are — see who’s there, speak, and release the gate or door remotely. Deliveries and trades get let in without you waiting at home for them.
How long does installation take?
Most home CCTV systems take one to two days; intercoms typically a day. You get a fixed date and fixed price up front, and we demonstrate everything working — with a written handover of logins and settings — before we leave.
Can you upgrade an existing system?
Frequently — often reusing good existing cabling, which keeps cost and disruption down. Failed recorders, old analogue cameras and poor night image are the usual reasons people call; footage and settings are migrated where hardware allows.
